The drip irrigation system is the best assistant in the summer cottage and garden plot. Replaces a watering can and heavy buckets of water, no more need to water the beds manually. Drip irrigation is designed to supply water regularly and evenly to the soil, directly to the roots of plants. Automatic watering does not just do the work for you, it saves time and energy, and helps you get a good harvest. Perfectly will be suitable, both for cultivation of flowers, and for a kitchen garden, a garden, seedling, greenhouses, hotbed and an open ground.

One of the conditions for a good harvest is a constant and balanced soil moisture. How does a drip irrigation kit handle this? With the help of an emitter drip tape, water enters the soil directly to the root system.

What is the benefit of a drip system?

  1. Water saving

  2. There is no need for high pressure, the operating pressure for irrigation systems is 0.3-1 bar.

  3. Optimum amount of moisture for plants

  4. Does not erode the fertile soil layer

  5. Ability to apply fertilizer directly to plant roots

Mounting and installation

The emitter tape is connected to a main pipe or a water tank using fittings. Depending on the irrigation area, additional lines and auxiliary drip tape lines can be connected.

It is recommended to place a storage tank between the water supply and the irrigation system. The barrel should be installed at 0.5-1 meter from ground level, this will create the necessary pressure for the drip tape. At the same time, the water in the tank will be heated to a temperature comfortable for the plants. It will also allow you to add fertilizer to the water tank and when the main tap is opened, water with fertilizer is supplied directly to the roots of plants through a drip tape.

If necessary, you can set a timer for watering. With its help, set the optimal watering time and the duration of the water supply, so watering can be carried out in your absence according to a given algorithm.

When connecting a drip tape irrigation system directly to a high pressure water supply, it is recommended to use a pressure reducer that will reduce the water pressure before it is fed into the drip tape. Thus, you will protect the drip tape from ruptures associated with high water pressure.

To avoid clogging and silting of drip tape emitters, we recommend using a mesh or disc filter for irrigation with 120 mesh (130 microns) filtration. It will prevent contaminants from entering the tape.

Also, one of the most important conditions for the operation of the irrigation system is the correct distribution and laying of the drip tape. Drip tape should be laid with emitters up, the tape should be laid in a straight line, it is unacceptable to bend it more than 30 degrees, to turn 90 degrees or branch the irrigation line, you must use fittings for drip tape with a diameter of 16mm:

  • Drip Tape Starter Tap

  • Drip Tape Plug

  • Tee for drip tape

  • Angled Drip Tape Connector

  • Repair sleeve for drip tape, etc.

When choosing a drip tape, it is important to pay attention to two main criteria: wall thickness and distance between drippers. As a rule, tape is produced with a wall thickness of 6 to 8 mil. The step of the emitters can be from 10 to 40 centimeters.

The drip irrigation system will reduce your energy costs, while improving the quality of water supply and nutrients to the soil, this is not only an opportunity to save time and effort, but also increase productivity.
